Default Magazines

I love to reads and study up on stuff I have interest in.....

So - what are the best magazines to read? I know that the big names and flashy pics don't always mean a lot....so I would like some input from those that know.

thanks

Boy...Magazines. There used to be about 5 of them but they slowly went out of publication. They are fun to read and the only thing out of date are the detectors, Hunting techniques haven't changed in years.
Short of online articles and possible back issues in PDF format the only thing I can suggest is buying back issues on ebay or other vendors.
Dan one of our members had a bunch but they might be gone by now.
Its a shame I sold a bunch 10 or so years ago.
Good Luck.

Western & Eastern Treasures is a good one to start with. They have been publishing a magazine since 1966. A years subscription starts at $33, and if you renew they are as little as $30 per year. They have a lot of great articles about various finds and locations to hunt. Hope this helps.

There are always lots of back issues of treasure hunting magazines for sale on Ebay. I have already purchased a couple hundred. They make excellent winter reading for those of us who live where you can't metal detect because of 18" of snow on the ground! One of my favorites is "Treasure Found" (now out of print).... but lots of back issues available on Ebay.

I have 130 from the mid 80,s that I once posted for sale. They are invaluable for tips. Of course, they lack the new technology and such. So I keep em and re-read.

I guess any good info on locations will be what one can find through research and not a mag read by thousands of people.

Makes sense that the tech has changed, but the methods have been about perfected.

Research, which includes library work, on line work, foot work and talking to the oldtimers in an area, are all part of the game. HH RickO
