Default Saturday hunt

Went today to the park for 4 hours and got my first bent 1957 silver half for the year. Also got 1958 wheat cent, silver heart pendant and $10.73 in clad money. Temperature was in 30s ground was still half frozen but could not wait anymore after not detecting for almost two weeks. Thanks for looking and good luck to everyone. HH

nice!

I have yet to find a half anything, does it look like a mower strike?
silver is silver!

I have heard taking to plates of lead and sandwich the coin and hammer it straight ....wonder if two pieces of soft wood, or thick leather would work??

look like an all around great day...besides the temp.!!

Yes it was mower strike. I will try and fix it that way you told me and see what happen. Thanks and best of luck finding your first half. HH

I wouldn't fix it at all. After all, are you going to spend it? It has some character the way it is.. just my opinion....

I'd use something like Walnut or oak. Soft wood won't do much.

Bent or not.... that's a great find to dig from the ground.

You think it's hard not detecting for two weeks?? Try 2 plus months.

I am anxiously waiting for spring to come around.

Congrats on getting out there and scoring!
