Default You are off

to a great start, don't worry about what others are saying. When was the last time they could tell their spouse that they are off to enjoy there hobby and come back with more money than they left with?

Looks like a productive year. Congrats on all your finds. Ignore those outsiders. A trip to play golf costs me forty bucks. M Ding for 4 hours, I make a sandwich, pull a bottle of water out of the fridge and off i go and i have never come home without at least a little coin except for my first day. HH IN 10

Yep, those are some excellent finds! You have had a great year.

Don't worry about what others think. This is THE CHEAPEST hobby existing, even if you are buying a $1500 detector.

Look at the thousands that golf clubs cost, then the greens fees, cart rental, and all the beer that most golfers drink during a game.

Look at Scuba diving (my other hobby), I've got over $10K in gear alone, then there is the travel.

Even Scrapbooking is expensive. Just ask a scrap booker how much they have in all thier paper, and stickers, and dies, and cutters, etc as naseum.

No, THIS is cheap. Now go enjoy the hell out your detector and make some more great finds!

True words there! I've had ton's of other hobbies over the years, one of which was racing.......$800 for a set of four hoosier slicks for the car, $600 each for Penske double adjustable nitrogen filled shocks....... + tow vehicle, etc, etc. Just to run in an "affordable class". And Heaven forbid ya "pop" the motor........I could have easily bought a minelab e-trac every year with the money I spent on that "hobby".

Mding hasn't set the world on fire for me income wise, but cost wise, after the initial expense of purchasing the equipment, money comes in, rather than flowing out. It's nice that it pays back, even if not a huge amount!

Nice pile of goodies!

Great digs ! Other people who have no intertest in hobbies will always say dumb things. Once they see what you are finding it changes. But I rarely show anyone what I find. steve in so az

Try showing horses and see what it cost. I don't have horses anymore, still love them but this is my first hobby I have ever come home with more money than I left with.

I love it when people laugh or chuckle at me and say I'm wasting my time.
I just knod my head and chuckle back
Keep it up and Congrats
