Default First Detector Finds

Just got a Garrett Ace 250 for Christmas and took it out for a few minutes after unboxing it Christmas day at my grandparents house. Found some canslaw and a piece of old pipe. Digging everything right now until I learn the detector. I'm excited though that I actually found something even if it was junk.

Found these in just a few minutes along the sidewalk. There is bound to be more stuff. Have a list of areas I want to detect. Just waiting on the chance to get out.

Aces are good detectors. I paid my ace off with one find. OVM civil war belt buckle about 9-10 inches deep. Hope you do good with it

The Ace 250 is a heck of a machine. You will find some really nice stuff as you learn to use it.

I have the same machine and am very happy with my finds this year. Lots of silver coins and cool relics. The 250 has the ability to sniff out some great treasures.

The more time you put in with it, the better you will get. Pay close attention and remember what the 250 is telling you before you dig the hole so you can compare the target to what it id'd at.

Feel free to PM me with any questions you might have. I'd be more than happy to share with you what I have learned this season.

Good luck and enjoy!

Congrats on your first finds! Now, time to check out Gramma and Grampa's house... how old is the house? Is there a clothesline? An incinerator? Big old trees? Heck, just scan every square inch of the yard and have a blast doing it! HH!!

The ace is a good, fun machine and easy to use. You'll find a lot of junk with it, but you'll also find those prized keepers in the mix too .
It's interesting what the "junk" sometimes is- old tools, car emblems, horse riding gear... and then the ubiquitous crushed soda cans.
Happy hunting and I look forward to your many finds!

If you want to learn the sounds take it to a tot lot. You'll get to learn the coin's sounds and other assorted ones also. Good luck!

Default Great job!

We also just opened up our Ace 250 for Christmas and need to post our first hunts from yesterday and today. We were succesful with a lot of junk...nails, aluminum cans, bottle caps, etc., but we also came up with some clad. Any signal we heard we pinpointed and started digging. It will be great to really learn how to maximize the use of the Ace 250.

Keep us posted with your finds!

House isn't super old. Can't remember when it was built for sure. Big yard to scan and it joins my parents property. Fun place to hit will be my father-in-laws house. Dates back to the 1800's and there were Civil War troop movements through the area. My father-in-law has lived there since he was 2 and is now in his 70's so knows the property well.
