Default My new purchase

I just bought a Bounty Hunter for my son for Christmas and in browsing thru this site, there is very little mention of the Bounty Hunters...Is this a good brand? I'm wondering if it should be returned and not even taken out of the box...Comments/?

In my opinion A Bounty Hunter should be just fine for a beginner. But plan on getting a christmas wish in the next few years for a higher end machine once he is hooked like we all are...

If you click on "search" and type in bounty hunter you should find all the threads posted on that brand. When I bought my Fisher I also got a Bounty Hunter Pilot for a back up and loaner. Have not got it out to try yet. I like that it has a 5 year warranty.

Welcome to the forum!!! Here is a link to a site that has reviews on most brands of detectors: http://metaldetectorreviews.net/ The Bounty Hunter is a good machine for beginners. There are many here that use them for many years and have had great results with them. I personally have not used one, so I can't really comment on how well they work. I'm sure that someone here that uses one of the Bounty Hunter machines will post a reply. Happy hunting!!!

It all depend on what BH you have. I started out with a Bounty Hunter Quick Silver, Found coins good, A !!!! load of pull tabs, not to deep, Never found jewelry. I quickly sold it and bought an Ace 250 & now I am finding everything, Silver, Gold, Coins... Good Luck.
