Default Finding Caches!

Sure, it's fun to find coins - free money and all that - but most treasure hunters dream of finding a cache. A jar of silver coins, an old tobacco tin stuffed with five-dollar gold pieces, or a metal box full of diamonds, emeralds, and rubies.

Cache hunting is unlike any other form of metal detecting, and this short podcast (internet radio show you can listen to on your computer anytime) has some tips to get you started in the right direction.

You gave me a brief flashback to that old Hall & Oates song, Your Kiss is On My List.

Thanks, but....

But aren't most caches hidden indoors? My mother used to hide money in a butterdish in the back of the refrigerator, for example.

Maybe, but the freezer is the first place an experienced thief will look. Surely if you are hunting an old uninhabited home site, the house itself might be your starting point. You can also get a perspective from inside the house on where to look outside the house. Most people that buried caches put them in a place they could easily keep an eye on.

Now this is good stuff. I'll probably use it in a future podcast!

(Actually, I have enough material on caches to do two more podcasts on the subject, and that tip is part of it).
