Default War of 1812 artillery officers belt plate!

This is my best find in my short time hunting. I found it a few weeks ago at my favorite cellar hole it was made in 1810 and is very rare.

Heres the back no hook or loop but I an't complaining. I guess after almost 200 years the solder holding them on corroded away.

That's very nice. Is that something all of those officers would have worn,
or is it specific to a particular regiment ?

It is a standard militia artillery officers sword belt plate it was used a few short years then replaced with a design with no star. You can bet that is my only site for a long time to come I want his cap badge of which there are only about 2 or 3 known to exist that would defanatly top the plate. What.... I can hope cant I???

Thumbs up Super find

That is one great find. Sometimes we forget all the different finds one can make, besides a nice coin. I would take that over 20 coppers anyday!! Congrats on that on, it will be a hard one to beat
