Default Missed opportunity

The swimming area I hunted last week was hit by vandals yesterday. Some idiots dragged a porta-potty into the water. I just heard about it now. City workers drained the swimming hole for sanitary reasons. They said water levels should be back up by tomorrow. I know there were goodies to be found out beyond the water line. While hunting the shore, I heard a woman saying she had lost a gold ring in the water about 15 years ago. Who knows what else is in there to be found? If I had known of the draining, it would have been a bit icky to hunt, but maybe very productive. I guess timing can be everything.

They may not have let you near the drained swimming hole due to health department concerns. Still, it would've been nice to try.

Several years ago a local lake was lowered to work on the dam. It left the two swimming areas dry. I found out about it two weeks later. By then it was picked clean. All I found was a post earring and the back from another one. I talked to a man who knew the people in charge of the lake. When he found out that they were going to drain it, he went out and bought a detector and was the first there. He found 27 gold rings, 15 of them had diamonds. He said that he could have found more but it took him several days to figure out how to run the detector.

Yea, way to bring him down guys......that's an awful thing to do, brag of finds right after he misses such an opportunity. Why, just the other day, I found a chest of Spanish Doubloons along a lake in my area because it was drained..... Sorry to hear about your loss in treasure....maybe another opportunity will pop up.
