Default high school help

I live near two very old schools early 1900s, the elem playground is obvious hunting ground. But where do you guys look in the high school? There is no play ground to speak of and the school has only about 100 to 120 students total in any one year. (yes i live in the sticks, my daughters graduating class had 13 this year!!) Any advice will be helpfull, I know the school is atleast 80 yrs old because they still have basketball pics posted going back to the 30s.

If you can find an old school yearbook that would be the greatest help. Maybe the library has a copy - maybe an old teacher there has one. Get a copy and find a wealth of old pics showing you where to go. Steve in so az

There is only one true way to determine the best spots - and that is to hunt ALL the spots. Check the whole area out! You just never know. Start out with any obvious areas based on advice you get here. But if you don't find anything there, check out the areas that would seem unlikely. Again, you just never know.

Try and search for the history of the school , many times you can find something online. There may have been things there at one time that arent there now depending on how old the school is. Sometimes the school has been torn down and rebuilt and changed drastically , which can mean any area there can be as good as the next. But in any case , next to ball fields or parking areas , benches and bleachers, or just grassy areas under a tree are good ones to try.

This may sound strange and may not apply...

If there is a tree/bush area that is out of direct view...hit it hard. Those places are where the smokers go.

The grass between the parking lot and the entrance doors. Lots of high schoolers drove to school especially in rual areas. I drove the back roads to high school long before I had a license. Even small schools have a sports field of some kind. The school I went we had 24 in the first grade and about 12 in the senior class. Good Luck

See if you can find old ariel photos online. I'm lucky that in PA, we seem to have the entire state from the '30s and the '70s online. Not sure how common this is in other states, but I think it is worth trying to find out if you have it. Then you can see what things looked like then.

Good luck.
