I have decieded it is time to get in the water. Been researching which one would be the best in my price range. It comes down to the Whites BHID or the Tesoro Sand Shark. Any insight on on these two detectors would be a big help. Thanks

I have never used the Sand Shark, so can't say anything on its performance. But, what it really comes down to on these two machines is how much trash you want to dig.
The Sand Shark is a PI machine and they, as a general rule, will go much deeper than a machine like the BHID. But, they have no discrimination, so until you get good at reading the sounds of your PI, you will be digging lots of junk, and sometimes digging DEEP for junk. The BHID will not go as deep as a quality PI machine, but it does have discrimination, which will cut down on the amount of junk you end up digging. It won't cut it all out, but it will save you a good bit. Dave |

Go with the Whites... it has more depth and depth is the name of the game if you are looking for gold... the Sand Shark is not as good as the Tiger Shark but if you can afford the BHer go for that one...
