Default bullet ID ?

I found this a couple months ago in the woods, but not near any known CW battle activity. The diameter is 9/16 inch, measuring with the tape (no calipers) or about .56 inch. Oxidation seems heavier on the one side, and it's a little beat up. I can't make out any rifling marks on it. I guess it's too narrow to be a shotgun slug, could it be a CW-era bullet? I guess another possibility is a recent black powder bullet, but I'm not familiar with what those look like. Also the base is hollow.

Here are couple pics of a CW era machine turned or machine grooved bullet. Diameter 0,562 and length 1,084 inches. Looks quite similar imho...

Thanks, Voriax - It does look similar. The location where it was found made me doubt it was CW, but it could be a little later. There was skirmish action within ten miles or so, so who knows ? A lot of troops passed nearby on the way to Gettysburg.
