This looks like a wonderful forum. I want to first thank Carol for the welcome.

I have been hooked on metal detecting ever since I found my first gold ring about 8 years ago on Topsail Island, NC. I currently reside in Abington, Pa located near Philadelphia and metal detect as much as I can. I usually go to schools & parks. I just started researching the area where I live and finally got the nerve to go out and ask permission in person to go to various sites that look promising. I also just went to my local historical society and got some useful tips from there. I usually find change and occasionally a ring. I have gotten a class ring back to its' rightful owner once. I always try to help others whenever possible. Sometimes I do find items people lose on the spot, but not as often as I would like. Usually people unfortunately do not know where they lost their valuables they lost.

I use a couple Tesoro and Mine Lab Metal detectors.

I would like to find someone in my area (Montgomery County, Pa) who would like to go metal detecting. When I first got on the forum, I saw someone from the county where I live who was looking for someone to metal detect with. This was from back in February of 2009. I am always interested in anyone who is interested in metal detecting with me. I currently either go alone or with my kids.

Good luck to all.

From,

David Fedder
