Default Finally found my first wheat penny!

I got a 1953 D wheatie today, it made my day, I only found 13 cents including that but it was cool to accomplish one of my metal detecting goals. Next up are silver coins, rings, and all the other good stuff! I'm over 8 bucks in clad so far since starting out. It's great when you find multiple coins in one spot, I was digging in one spot yesterday and the machine was going nuts, there were 3 quarters together and a few inches by that hole there was one more. I'm really enjoying this hobby.

Way to go! Now try a Boy Scout camp. Talk about some serious clad amounts.

Remember where you found the wheatie. Around here, where there are multiple wheats...there's often silver.

Props! I've been detecting for a month now and haven't found a single one. It's not so easy - at least not around here!

Congrats, found my first wheat today as well. It really does pump you up when you find something old. Wonder how it will feel to find my first silver.

Congratulations on your first older type coin, snf101480. I knew I was on my way to bigger and better things when I found my first wheat!
I still consider it a good day out whenever I find one.

Good job finding your first Wheatie, I remember my first last Apr 19th 08. You'll find many more, I'm over 125 of them.. Silver will be next!

Good job on the wheatie! Give that spot another pass cause where there's wheat, silver can't be too far away. Steve

You guys are great, I appreciate all the support and good wishes, it's an awesome feeling finding something older. I think the detector liked that wheatie too, because it had a different ring to it than what I'm used to hearing. Surprisingly enough, that was the last place I expected to find a wheatie. Today my girlfriend suggested we try another park and we got another $1.18 in change. I wish all of you the best, and hopefully you guys will find something soon that excites you the way the wheat penny did for me.
