Default First Ring and an odd Chinese Coin?

Got home from work and nobody was home, so what the heck, I'll go visit the park my son and I MD'd last Sunday and see what i find.

I was out there about and hour and hunted the large tree again and went through a kids small play area.

Below is what I found and where I found stuff:

- Kids ring (My first!! Found by the tree on top of the ground)
- Old coin with a square in the middle and some Chinese writing on it. Looks old and very worn down. (Found down the hill from the play area, next to a jogging trail about 3 inches in the dirt). I need to do some research on this one, looks pretty cool.

- 9 Pennies (one by the tree and the rest in the play area)
- 1 Nickel (play area)
- 1 Dime (play area)
- Cheap rusted/gold earring (play area)
- Pink Pendant (Heavy and looks like silver on the back? Not sure though, found in the play area)
- The two items at the top right, the connector and a part of a fence, I kept because they were the two items I refused to give up on. Dug and dug and finally the beep was out of the hole, then it took me forever to find the blasted things in the piles!! LOL

I had a BLAST!! Can't wait to get my Ace250.

Thanks guys it sure is fun hunt for stuff.

Could That Chinese coin be as old as that website states? Why in the world would it be in that park? If that thing is real, I'm going to have to go back and look in that area more!

Well, its hard to tell from that photo...I think those square-holed coins were issued until 1910 or so, and they were all quite similar. So if you could get a better pic of that coin, both sides, it would be easier to date it.

Mine looks identical to this one (Primary Series):

Pretty Cool!

Emperor KAO TSUNG
AD 1736-1795
reign title: CH'IEN-LUNG, AD 1736-1795

S-1466, "BOO YUWAN" (Board of Works mint). The manchurian mint name translates to Pao-yuan or "The Source of all Currency".

There are two basic series to the coins of Ch'ien-lung. The primary series has the regular Ch'ien-lung inscription, produced at many mints throughout his reign. The second type is referred to as the Shan-lung commemorative issue, with two upright strokes added to the bottom of the character "Lung", and is thought to have been issued during the period from his abdication in 1795 to his death in 1799.

Ch'ien-lung is thought of as one of the most brilliant rulers in Chinese history. He was a patron of the arts, which reached a very high level during his reign. His is also one of the few Chinese emperors to abdicate the throne, which he did to honor K'ang Hsi (his father) by ending his reign just before it would have exceeded the length of K'ang Hsi's reign.
