Default Alkalines or Rechargeables? Which??

Alkalines or rechargeables? What kind of batteries should you be using in your detector?

What two kinds of batteries should you never use?

What do the manufacturers themselves have to say on this topic?

Listen to my latest "In the Treasure Corner" podcast (internet radio show) for the answers.

Before listening to the podcast I called Tesoro, they informed me the 9v NiMH rechargeable batteries would work fine. They should be here in the morning. Hopefully they will perform as my wallet can stand a break.

Thanks for the advice Dan!
I will probably stick w/ alkaline batteries for my mdrs and continue to use rechargeable batteries for my camera and game controller.

Nice show Dan. It would seem that you still fell into the "Alkaline trap" at the end though. Try these...

Duracell Nimh - 2650 mAh about About $24 for 8

Use them in my DFX from day one. 900 Wheat Pennies later they are still going strong. (2.5 Years) There is no performance loss in White's detectors. Cheap detecting power and less waste.

Keep Swing'in
Jack

Here's an article on batteries by Carl@ Whites. Seems like he thinks NIMH are the way to go. Rob

I switched to rechargables this year and I'm glad I did. They last just as long in my MXT & M6 as alkalines.

Rechargeables are great and they save money. Always get at least one extra set.

Default I found a New Kind of Rechargeable Batteries

And they are Ni-Zn Rechargeable High Voltage 1.6V with a capicity of 2500 mWh---I bought (4) sets, They charge up to14 V. for a set of (8) and I was told they will last for (2) years and hold a charge that long---They are Rated at 1.6 V per battery alkaline only goes to 1.5---Right Now you can only get them at RITZS Camera Stores or the other stores that they bought out and kept there names---I am sure they are going to work out as good as any Other Rechargeable or Alkaline Batteries for our detectors
