I haven't posted in here for a while but I figure this find was worthwhile. lol. I am visiting in Indiana and last night I got to meet up with Brant aka Tater and we hit a field. my first target was a bent up suspender clip then my second target was a bucket lister. It was a stunning 1835 Capped Bust half dime. I am still in shock this morning. lol.

Congrats on the capped bust! I was lucky enough to finally get my first this year as well, mine was a 1821 dime though. Great hunting!

Even though I know that bust coins fill every sandbox east of the Mississippi, I must say : Congratz ! Nice looking show. Especially like the in-situ reveal !

Was there another piece of metal like a nail or wire resting against it? That's a weird tarnish pattern. Normal silver dime audio/id?

Congrats digger on your bucket lister. Not every day a Capped Bust is dug and a Half dime at that. I was lucky last year to dig my one and only. Also from 1835 but a Dime, yours shows a lot more detail. Trapper
