We've had some strong winds in the last few days from a more northerly direction. I thought this would be a good change for conditions except the surf was too rough for an outing in it. So yesterday I decided on a wet sand hunt at the beach I last found some yellow about 3 weeks ago. I arrived for sunrise and after a few minutes of finding my bearings on which part of the wet sand was producing the targets it was basically non-stop digging for 4.5 hours. I knew I was going to go over 100 coins and since this wasn't "Penny Beach" I had my highest clad total for the year at $13.79. I was digging lots of greenies, caked coins, and even sinkers. (The 1985 Swiss 20 rappen and the Peruvian 1995 were among the caked coins.). I was pretty certain with the way the hunt was going that gold would show up. Well, like Mud's "Gold is a cruel mistress" phrase, it never showed. The St. Christopher pendant & chain I thought initially was going to be junk, but after some cleaning at home I was surprised at the " 925". I was even more surprised to see how much those sold new for online. Not a bad outing, but with those conditions where I was hunting I should've had a glint of yellow.

Nice finds. Penny beach is always fun but it sounds like further north was better. Congrats

Well in the past 3 months at the beach ive dug about 120 dollars in change, well over a hundred sinkers, 95 pieces of assorted jewelry (some silver) and an absurd amount of junk without a single piece of gold, i guess if its not lost ya just cant find it, or maybe i just suck.

Silver and clad is better than nothing. I haven't found gold in so long I forgot what it looks like.

4.5 hours = 270 minutes divided by 185 targets (what I count in your pic) = 1 target dug every 1.459 minutes. Your a machine Felix!

:wow: I guess I shouldn't whine then. With that much in finds you definitely don't suck.

Well there were 7-8 bottle caps, 3-4, PT's, 2-3 foil pieces, and a large stainless bolt in the trash that weren't pictured so that should lower my average a bit more! Seriously though, I try to be quick and efficient, especially in my recovery methods. I have seen way too many guys on Youtube videos taking too much time retrieving targets with methods that waste time and energy. I am also getting near the point that I'm going to have to go back to my hand specialist and have the "trigger finger" procedure for my left hand. My ring and middle fingers are getting increasingly locked in more. I have the same issues with the same fingers on right hand but not as bad. I may be a machine but I'm falling apart! :( The price of pirating.

I feel your pain Felix- bittersweet to be digging good targets again and again without finding the gold. :?: Hopefully, things will balance out and you find some gold when conditions aren't so ideal. Still a fine hunt and one that says, "come back for more!".

I had trigger finger on my right ring finger. I suffered for six months then saw my orthopedic doctor. I shot of cortisone fixed it. Hope it works for you.

I love the silver chain and medallion, never seen one like that before.

Nice job finding the productive spots Felix . I spent most of the last 5 days chasing swell and being generally disappointed. Even lost my padded Fisher bag to a rogue wave, luckily nothing in the bag at the time

After you found those sinkers and cakey babies I too am surprised no gold. Good job pushing through though, I like the St. Christopher stuff, I have a gold pendant, and a silver 4 leaf clover St. Christopher.

Felix get your backside to a hand specialist. The sooner you get the shots the better the chance of taking care of the problem. I procrastinated too long and had to have surgery to release the tendon. It took quite a few weeks for the finger to return to normal. You are gripping the handle on that scoop too tightly.
