Default XLT Spectrum. Better than..?

I've found a used XLT Spectrum within my budget. Would you buy this over an Ace 250 or Fisher F2? It's for coins, jewelry and relics in fields, on beaches, and over grass and stubble.

Thanks!

Most definitly buy it!! Manuals on available online at the White's website. That unit depending on year and model was close to $1000 new as opposed to the $220 Ace and F2...

Didn't get it - back to the drawing board. Any ideas for something comparable that might come up second hand?

Go on Ebay and get yourself something used a whites DFX or an XLT. I've seen the DFX on there many times at around $600 and the XLT much cheaper. You can tell some may have had some minor repairs in the past but you can also tell the what machines have been serviced and which ones were not. If you cant tell post the link here and most of us could identify any problems, just go for it.....It's kind of like the first time I learned how to swim do I take the plung or do I just dip my toe into the water.

In truth under the right conditions you could make back the cost just in coins inside a summer of hunting. I would have no regreats today if I had to replace my detecter thus far it has paid for itself every year I've owned it.
