Banned from another Fourm

Some years ago I was very active on another Metal Detecting Fourm. My hunt for gold took me anywere people were finding it but it wasnt the gold I needed it was the money. Just getting by not working and wanted to marry the woman I was with I just had to find some rings.

I found some part time work and saved for months to get my Excal and once I got it the machine it wasnt preforming to my expectations. So I wrote in a post telling how I felt about the Excal without telling anyone I did get three rings one Plat one Gold and one junk but the machine when wet went nuts. So the post I wrote was not in the Excal's favor.

Once the post went out I got balsted by a fourm member about how I was nothing more than a Gold digger monger who if I didnt find gold on my first few attempts had the nerve to bad mouth the detector. Then I posted the pics of the Plat and Gold. This guy didnt know my resons for finding gold nor did he care all he cared about was that he endorsed the machine and recomended it to others. So he and I went back and forth post blocked by moderator. Two years later I have had since had the detector looked at and sure enough there was something wrong with it. So after all it wasnt that I was a gold digging monger or didnt know how to use the machine (you can appologize at any time).

I also posted on a certain brand of waders after three uses they leaked I went through 13 pairs in one year. Same guy gave me an issue telling me I was doing something wrong. Little did he know I contacted the company direct and I was told they were not designed for salt water and had no disclaimer. Yet this guy continued to tell me how wrong I was. The company ended up sending me a check for well over the purchase price (you can appologize at any time). The reason why you can apologize is becasue you in part were responsible for getting me banned off my favorite site.

Also with this fourm has a find of the month contest. I dont mean no disrespect to anyone who finds a indian cent but in any contest what indian cent will beat out a Gold ring with Diamonds? I love old coins as much as the next person but Gold is Gold. Maybe a Barber or a silver half or silver dollar but a penny? So as the moderator put it my attitude was extreamly poor and disruptive and I got banned.

I reciently wrote to the moderator asking his forgivness and after almost two years to be let back on the fourm. He stands by his dicision and for the good of the members would not be alowed back on the fourm. This comming from a guy that I've had months worth of PM's and emails regarding gold and years worth of posting. Personly it takes two too argure and why wasnt anyone else banned or warned. I am sorry for what I said and how I behaved and would like to be put back on.

There's been no disruptive behavior here on this fourm just good clean fun why is that because this other guy doesnt respond to my posts. Well if the other fourm doesnt want me back at least I dont see an issue here and have found a few friends along the way I'd say that's worth more than Gold itself.

Hope you feel better now that you got that out of your system. I can tell it has been eating away at you. You bring up a point that we all should remember. These forums are provided to us by the moderators and it is a PRIVILEGE to be allowed to participate. They have the right to stop us anytime they think it is in the best interest of the group.

It is unfortunate that the moderator doesn't accept your apology and allow you to participate, but they have the ultimate control. Fortunately Carol and Vlad are very understanding with us and we try to respect each other.

I can tell from your post you are still hurt and angry. You could wait a long time for their apology. Try to let go of the anger and just enjoy this forum. This IS the Friendly Forum and from what I can tell, you have always been welcome here. Life isn't always fair, but we all have to live with our decisions.

May you find all the gold and friendship you want right here.

Thank you for you comment, I guess it has been eating away at me here and there. The other person involved is very well know in the detecting community and he has endorsed many of the products I mentioned. Personaly they didnt work for me and wanted other hunters to hear what I had to say about my experience with them. I dont see anything wrong with that and shouldnt have been attacked publicly. If someone has something negitive to say about someones thoughts it should be taken to a PM level.

As far as the find of the month well that was my gold ring that lost to that IH so I was a little unjustly sore. People vote on what they vote on and should have left it at that and I was wrong for it. So I'll pray and just let it go I really dont know why I felt the need to contact them after two years but I really wanted to let by gones be by gones I guess I got my wish. Again thanks for your kind words...

As far as appologies most people arnt big enough to come forward and admit they are wrong and honestly dont expect one. It would be nice right but it will never happen....

I dont know that this guy thinks about me I would have to say no. I guess what it comes down to is do I want to be right or do I want to be happy. I'm also sorry I offended this other fourm member by my posts but I have no control over what someone else thinks or says and upsetting him was definitly not my intent and wasnt at all directed at him. Why he got offended I'll never know.

I do know that God gave me free will and if God gave me free will what right do I have to take it from someone and this is exactly the case here with this fourm I'm talking about.

I know I sound upset and I am I tossed out my best I'm sorry and it wasnt heard but you know what I cleaned off my side of the street and thats all that matters. If there was any wrong doing at this point let them live with it I did my part.

Anyone that comes out and says I'm a forgiving person normally isnt it's like saying how honest someone is. Normally when somone comes out and says how honest they are chances are theres nothing but dishonesty. A forgiving person just is and doesnt have to explane it and an honest person is just that and doesnt have to shout it out.

I wish them and the fourm well I pray that they find the forgivness they talked about and I pray that they find the honesty to come forward and admit their wrongs if not for my sake but for thiers.

I used to belong to a detecting club and one of the reasons I quit was the monthly contests. They were all rung up by the good ol boys network. You would see a nice silver ring lose to a junk ring, etc.

I have not been on this forum for very long, but it is a harmonious one, and unusual in that respect.
With regards to finds of the month competitions, when I vote, I vote for something that interests me, like the thing I would most like to have found.

I have found Celtic gold and Medieval gold coins. And there is usually at least one Celtic gold coin entered every month in the coin section.

But I will more than likely vote for a silver milled coin of say Queen Anne, as I have never found one myself, and special too. Or an Indian head penny if it was ebtered as that I have never seen on our forum.

Same goes for artifacts.

But of course I am going by the British forums

I belong to a lot of forums. I find the people that have to bark the loudest and tell each of us how wrong we detect, how wrong we are about our reviews, how unexperienced we are at our machines, are idiots. I used to battle it out with them, but after seeing some of their finds, I just had to laugh. Here was a guy telling me how to hunt foundations, when he wasn't posting anything close to what I was finding. Some people just have to rule others. I think it's because at home they are not the king The Indian penny thing can be a winner, if say it's an 1877, 1908 S, 1909 S or in my case was a really nice 1864 L / 1864 (overdate) A rarer penny for sure. But I do agree, when a worn out 1907 penny wins over a stunning gold ring??? Well, sometimes it's just politics, even at this minuscule level. I love detecting and I hope people like my finds. I hope I can inspire and maybe educate some readers. But for those who need to push buttons?? I could care less. Life is short, remove all anger and feel good!!!

Dang nabbit, I don't know how many times (more than I'll admit too) that I'll be reading a thread and somewhere along the way I see a post like Rudy's or it might say "hey does anyone realize this post is x yrs/months/etc old". Then I gotta shoot to the top and see for myself and sure enough.

Every time it happens I say "man, I gotta pay closer attention" but I'll do it again later (even the same day ).
