Smacked hard on this 1852 Large Cent, plus 1876 IH...so close to the 1877 Chief !

Also a strange carved pointed stone was a surface find (Indian)? Its not metal or graphite.

Crotal (sleigh) bell some filigree and a flat iron.

These are from one of my fields where a house once stood.

Have pulled Indians and relics from here, but when I got a 97/97 on the Deus I thought it was probably big iron. There is no modern junk at all here.

It was a loud signal running 18kHz, 3 reactivity, -1 silencer and had the sensitivity cranked to 94/95.

I may have found a large cent back in the 80's I know I have one, but these parts of Ohio, 1850's or earlier are far and few between, for me anyway.

Seriously though, great job on that Largie, if you found a wheatie, it would be a cent trifecta!!

Great hunt, and a very nice looking largie. No modern junk? Thats a relic mine.

The carved stone is very interesting. Looks a lot to me like a seine weight for fishing - is your site near water?
