Thumbs up Two days, two sites, two detectors, two lots of finds, one gold coin.

The boss is away visiting our daughter for a few days so I did not need to get in triplicate permission to go out detecting for the last two days!

One of the local farmers purchased a Minelab E-Trac a few months ago, I go out detecting with him for a couple of hours every month.

On Tuesday he asked me would I like to have his E-Trac for a few days to have the experience of using a Minelab. Up to this point I had never tried a Minelab so it seemed a good idea to give it a go.

So I brought the machine home with just the basics from him on how to switch it on and ground balance and so on.

First impressions are, it doe’s what it says on the tin.

The gold half sovereign found today is the second one I have found in the last six months.

Today’s is 1846 young Queen Victoria portrait, the other one is the older portrait of Queen Victoria and is dated 1892.

Keep smiling and thanks for looking.

Doug you made me laugh.....I thought I was the only one that needed triplicate

Great finds (including the lovely gold) and nice pictures as usual.

Not often you get a great opportunity like that. Having someone let you "try out" that nice of a detector, without having to buy one. Those were sure some great finds. I envy your access to those really old finds. Congratulations and wish you continued success.

I will answer your question honestly and without favour.

Taking the cost out of any equations. (Personal)

Depending on your ability and the need to move some/all parameters of a machine then it could be for you. (different set ups for different search conditions, handy here in the UK/Europe.)

This is my totally honest opinion, there are machines readily available at considerable less $’s which are better suited for my style of detecting, time, cost, ground conditions, what I search for, brain power.

I do not see any need for me to change from the Goldmaxx Power today, tomorrow, not sure.

Doug
