I guess you can hammer it back into place. Drill a hole and put a cherry rivet in it.

The same thing happened to my sand scoop. I used rivets, worked great.

I'd use stainless steel machine screws and nuts. Only 'cause I've had little success with rivets. You've got to drill either way if you don't weld. Have you got a local welder? My guy has done a few tiny projects for free. I have tipped generously in the past.
Good luck, Marty __________________ |

I went through several of those scoops and finally had a beach scoop made of heavy stainless, It is a monster but I have had it for over 5 years now with no problems.

I'd look for local machine shop that can weld SS.

Hey Flapjack, Mine hasn't done what MBGuy's has done yet, but I'm sure it will. Do you have some kind of rivit machine? Guess what I'm asking is: How did you do that ![]()

Drill holes and install pop rivets. Problem is you might spend as much for the pop rivet gun as you did for the scoop.

What is your scoop made of? If it is made of aluminum, you can pop rivet it and it should hold just fine. Make sure you put enough rivets in it. I would recommend at least 3. Also, make sure you use aluminum rivets. Steel rivets will make both metals corrode and your repair will fail. If it's made of stainless, welding is a better option. However, it would likely cost you more to have it welded than to replace it usless you have a buddy that's a welder. If it's stainless and you want to fix it yourself, I would use stainless bolts and nylon locknuts. Make sure to "straighten" out the bent section so everything fits nice and tight. This will give any repair a much greater chance of lasting. Just my two cents. (btw, I am a fabricator and work with metals every day)
