Default First day out and first post

Hi all,

I Bought an ACE 250 (after doing a little research and not wanting to spend a ton) to look for a necklace a friend lost. Didn't find the necklace but I couldn't put the ACE down. I'm thinking I might be addicted if you know what I mean!

Went out to the beach today in search of buried treasure. It was an overcast but very nice day. Anyway here are some pics.

Me an the ACE went here first

Lovely finds Moseng, and great pictures. Yep, plenty of addicts around here

I wish I had a beach like that close to where I live.

At a guess, I would say that's the "West Coast" ?

Very nice pictures and good "first hunt" with the Ace.

Where are you from? Those beaches look like northern California.

Nice finds, as far as being addicted I don't know what your talking about. It's just something to do in my free time, it's not like it is going to take over my life or something. It's not like I call in sick at work on nice sunny days, or spend nights looking at metal detecting adds, or spending time on the forums reading and talking MDing. Or talking to all the ole timers about where there are some ole homesteds to hunt, or just driving around looking for places to hunt. I just don't know what your talking about.

Default Hello

Howdy and welcome from Kentucky, I have to agree with all of the other's I'm not an addict, just because the sound of the next beep haunts my ever waking thought. Ahh who am i kidding I'm addicted to this and I hope when I'm a 100 years old that I got somebody pushing me around in a wheel chair and digging my holes for me hehehehehe.

Default Thanks for the replies everyone!

Wow, lots of replies, thanks again! Either people get up real early in this forum or maybe it's a time dimension thing! Anyway, I thought lowjiber and some of the Santa Cruz folks would have no problem naming these beaches. I didn't think to name them sorry. These spots are mine, all mine!! Heh!! The first one is Bonny Doon, a famous nude beach. Think about it, they take their clothes ALL the way off. Some valuables are bound to slip out and get lost! Well at least it used a nudest beach in the late 70's early 80s, now mostly used as a party spot for the locals and University. That's OK, drunk people lose stuff too right? Anyway I've been to a lot of beaches in the world but this is one just of the nicer ones, especially on a colder winter day when nobody is around! The other beach is just up the road on highway 1, but the name escapes me.

The "gold" is a game token AHSARoger.

And I'm not kidding, I think I am addicted because I'm seriously thinking about going back TODAY knowing that I spent about 4-5 hours yesterday and only pulled out $1.50 in change, a dog tag, 3 sinkers (is there a discrim setting for sinkers on the ACE?), numerous pulltabs and bottle caps, and other misc trash. I just KNOW THERE IS TREASURE THERE!!! MUHAHAAAAA!

Moseng
