Default first halfer for the year

well .......Been workin a ton of hours the past few months...avg 60+ a week....
It was really takin a toll on what really matters in life....COINS!!!!!
I had a 2 month silver dryspell that ended a few days ago.....This coin got my spirits up a little bit......
Anyway, On Tuesday I managed the two dimes and a sterling ring. I knew there should be some old deep stuff under the plethora of new change....I just slowed it way down and scanned for deep signals.....I know my CTX has not been performing like it used to but it did stop me on a 10 inch high tone that was oddly scratchy and inconsistent .....I dug down 6 and nothing beeped, took a good chunk of dirt out then the pinpointer latched onto something in the corner of the hole ....I carefully carved around the target area and pried up and I heard the THUD of the coin landing in the bottom of the hole and knew I had a good sized coin there......
This was my fist ever of this flavor half. Can't wait to get back ....I had a good feeling yesterday and I still have a gut feeling something really nice is still waiting for me there.......I'll definitely do some live digs next time......

Congrats on the great coin. Those tabs without the pull ring fool me for nickels too on my minelab.

You get 2 extra points for getting that at 10" deep. Nice ! However: We're disappointed in you on another regard: I thought east coast guys get colonial coppers and large cents and busts all over the place ? What's with this east coast posting of a coin that's later than 1900 then ? tsk tsk

Bobac....what do you mean your CTX isn't performing like it used to? Can you elaborate? I might have a similar issue, if it's an issue....great coin!
