Of course it had to be the Dollar Lot.:D I'm going to have to rename it the Silver Mine. It was so pretty after lunch, I had to get in a before supper hunt. Wasn't expecting much, but that is when this place surprises me. Doesn't seem possible there is a square inch that hasn't been dug, but the silver keeps showing up (not that I am complaining). Found four Silver Quarters, so I would certainly call it a successful hunt. Hope you don't get tired of me posting these hunts, cause I sure never get tired of doing them. Till next time. Happy Hunting !!!

Love the Spanish Peseta probably brought back to the states by one of the sailors ⚓

Nice going on the 4 silver coins! I'd love to know the complete story of the person who owned the home that was torn down. What he or she did for a living etc. I'm surprised that they didn't put away some gold coins as well.

Congrats again, at some point it be nice to see some detecting porn with a big ole pile 'o silver you pulled from this lot.

WOW, congrats on more silver from that place. They must have bulldozed down a bank and forgot to empty the vault! :D

Your wish is my command. The man who lived there graduated from Virginia Tech. in 1978 with a Bachelor's degree in psychology. He went to work for Woolworth Department store till it went out of business in the 80s. Then he went to work delivering beer and wine for 31 years. He died in June 2016. He had no immediate family. The city made them tear the house down in Oct. of 2017. How's that for an update !!

P.S.

He lived with his mother until she died in 2009 at the age of 90.

Obviously this lot must have an interesting history or story behind it. Do you know what the story is? Hidden bank? Hermit hoarder? Coin collector gone insane?
