looking to get into Metal Detecting as a hobby. I would like a few reccomendations on a quality detector to purchase, I travel often, to sunshine destinations, this year I was in Dominican Republic, Aruba, Key West and Aruba. I would love to sweep these tourist laden beaches and see what turns up! I'd like a Detector that is capable of being used in waist deep water as well. Let me know what you guys think..........
Thanks in advance! Carter |

Hi Carter, since you need a waterproof machine then the Minelab Excalibur II, White's Beach Hunter ID, and the Tesoro Tiger Shark would be a good start. There is another type of water detector called the PI but they have virtually no discrimination, it would be a dig all scenario with the PI. But the PI will penetrate much deeper. If I can be of further help Carter just email or call me at John's Detectors 325-282-2329. Be safe Carter.
