I already posted a picture of this in another thread when I first dug it up, but I wanted to show how nicely this cleaned up. It was a lot of work with a toothpick, but well worth the effort!
It was dug at a 1850 homesite in Upstate NY and was only a few inches deep. I was digging a lot of milk jar lids at the time so I figured it was just another one of those but then I pulled this beauty out.
Tough to find information on this item. I believe it is from 1910-1920 but I cannot say for certain. There seems to be very limited information online. Any additional info would be awesome! It is made of solid brass, it's heavy!
