Default Never thought I would find one of these!

I have been hunting our family farm since this spring. We have owned it since before the civil war. The main house burned down in the 1970's leaving a foundation and a chimney. I have gone over the area around the house many times and keep finding artifacts and coins. I thought I had cleaned out most of the easy coins and had started digging a lot of iffy signals, which there are hundreds. Every Sunday that the weather is bearable, above 38 would find me there mixing up my grids and going at diffrent angles. The coins were showing up now about every other trip. To date a 1941 quarter, 2 mercs 1917 & 1941, 1 rosie 1952, 3 indian heads 1883,1886, & 1907, 15 wheaties fom 1917.
This past sunday we were blessed with highs in the 50's, so you can guess where I was. After going up close to a fence line that produced an axe head and a hatchet head I decided to change scenery and work around a natural spring that had not produced much in the past. After about an hour of digging up junk I decided to go back to the house for the last hour of the day. I started between the house and a fence line at an angle not tried before. After the first pass I stopped to watch a woodpecker working up the side of a tree. Do I go right or left from my first pass? Using the premise that woopeckers are good luck, left twards the tree he was in won. On my second pass got a 94 on my xlt with a loud even tone. After I pulled out the plug I noticed an ribbed silver piece on the edge of the hole. I said to myself surely not, reached in and pulled it out, brushed off the dirt, a beautiful 1883 morgan. It was laying flat 2"deep. It has been stated many times a place is never hunted out. How I missed this easy target up til now is a testament to that. I've only started this hobby last nov. this was a dream find for me. Sorry for the long winded story, just wanted to emphasize to keep plugging and good things will come. Also be careful when digging your holes I somehow scratched this one with my knife- another lesson learned.
