Default Token Anyone?

Those who have followed the member contest know that I discovered a tiny, remote park in the mountains south of San Jose that had never been hunted and provided several silver pieces and an 18k bracelet. However, the most astounding (to me) targets were the tokens (97) found from Sep to Nov.

The vast majority of the tokens have the same design, but different metals and sizes. The ranger told me that there was a "medieval club" who met there in the '80's for jousting meets, and these tokens were used instead of money by the group.

I found them in the woods and two clearings (each about an acre). All read a solid +74 and were between 1" and 5" deep...depending on soil.

Just sharing........

There is one older one in the picture. It's a token from the '50's from Neptune's Kingdom at Santa Cruz beach boardwalk when it was a huge enclosed pool. The building is still there, but has been "modernized" into a giant arcade.

That's really cool! I love tokens mainly because they are more personal. You have a better connection with the person who dropped it.
