Default coloniel cellar hole finds

Well got up bright and early today and hit some cellar holes with my forum buddies....Coinnut(George) and Del (Dan) in CT. It was a pretty good day not alot of finds but some good ones..I found my first crotia bell (sp?) it was in pretty good shape it was like 4 inches down about 70 yds away from the cellar hole.I also found a good size button about 8 inches down,it was within 30 ft of the cellar hole I thought at first it was a coin. Dan was near me and found a indian head not sure the depth but it was in about the same distance away from the cellar hole. George found alot of buttons as well sorry I don't have the details on where and how. Then some hunters came by scouting the area and george talked to them and told him of another cellar hole in another location so we packed up and headed there. We there about 15 mins and dan had the find of the day a civil war button in good shape. I am sure they will clean up there finds and post them and give more details..The pics shown are all of our finds combined.

Great finds.. those old cellar holes can be quite productive... lots of them here in the mountains. Now that I am here.. will be hunting them in the spring. RickO

Your bell looks almost exactly like this one:

Fig.16
Late 18th crotal bell decorated
only on the lower hemisphere

I found this here, http://www.ukdfd.co.uk/pages/crotal-bells.html
