Hey everyone hope everyone is enjoying their summers and tenjoyinthis sweet hobby as well! Been an up and down season for me. Season number 2 for myself and I'm still looking for that silver honey hole but I'm sure it will come. Anyway I've got a few buttons found in central mass that I could use help identifying or dating. I took a ride out to the Berkshires with the Berkshiresfamily and spent a couple nights in the camper. But today was the first time I've ever swung outside of Worcester county MA. I'm not familiar with the area so I wasn't sure if the locals are into the hobby as hard as me. Well I can say now that I don't think so! Drive ten minutes from my camper and see a cellar hole to my right. I said hell with it looks trashy but that's probably what deters other detectorists. Within the first ten mulinutes I had two flat buttons spoon and lantern pieces head stamps and the smallest horseshoe I've ever seen soon followed. Then I hit the fatty injun ... Looks pretty toasted but hey were on the right track. 30 mins after that I got a deep quarter signal. 6-8 inches . I've had large cents hit up to 90 on my at pro so honestly that's what I figured. I was relieved to see a silver coin pop out if that plug. An 1893 barber quarter in really nice shape! It was a fun hour hunt but I left after the barber unfortunately the dinner bell was ringing. Glad to know I can get away and still have descent spots to swing. Thanks for reading and looking HH! Oh info on the military pin would be great too thanks!

Day 2 I went back and didn't do as well as yesterday in the coinshooter department but killed some nice relics...got a sweet bell a ball button ox shoe shoe buckle pieces head stamps harmonica reeds. The list goes on ...thanks for looking!

Thank you jack I'm going for a couple hours today by then I'm heading back to central mass tonight.
Nicer barber than mine!
I hope there's more in your near future!
Nice hunt and great looking barber, congrats!
Thank yoyou jam its good to see silver every now and again lol HH!

Nice looking finds!

The coins actually look newer than the age of the cellar hole.

That site really looks colonial.

Yeah, those old wells are dangerous. Great photos!

Any idea how old the site dates back to?

Well I hit that injun and I thought for sure I was gunna have a good day I figured the silver may have been a seated at first but it wasn't to be ...I agree all these pics are separate holes but they definitely look colonial. This town was settled in 1735 and these holes look to be on the 1870 beers map. I'm back in central mass now but plan on returning in a few weeks hopefully we can get some colonial coppers or silvers. Sometimes I line a bunch of sticks over the well for my safety and others just a habit. Thanks for the reply good to see some locals on here! HH!

Congrats on the Barber Quarter, Fatty and the relics...nice digs!
Thanks capt hey I'm coming down to CT & RI for the fourth I'll be there til Sunday. I'm trying to meet up with some surf and turf guys let me know if you or anyone you know wants to hunt. I could definitely use some pointers in the surf but I'm pretty good on turf. Thanks again!
Congrats on the fantastic finds!
Thank you ! It was a fun vacation and it was nice to change up hunting locations for a change. HH!

Nice digs. The Barber is sweet, but that Civil War general service eagle coat button is really sweet. Looks like you have a good mix of coins and relics at that spot. Colonial, Civil War and late 1800s. Get back out there and get the rest. Thanks for sharing.
