Default First Spanish silver

Thought I would stick this one here since it sure blew my mind. If anyone can date it I would greatly appreciate it.

I cant date it but it was minted in Mexico and you already know that its a reale or a piece of one (piece of eight).

Couldn't have said it better, Tater.

That's an awesome find, Swinger. I found an 8, but what you have is even more rare.
BTW... it looks like someone devided that one into sixths instead of just quartering it... making it even MORE rare.

Thanks Krom and every one elso too. I was comparing it the other day to a whole one and I thought it was an eighth ( 1 bit ) but I'll take another look. You may just be right.

I found one last Sunday. Same size as that one. A few years back, I found 3 within 5 feet of each other. One piece had a date on it. I will see if I can find it and post the date.

Good find.

This gives you a better perspective, MXTSwinger. It was three cuts.
Sorry about the clockwise fading. I didn't bother to keep a high resolution every time I used the original piece when I copied it.

As if you figured out it was divided into sixths!
I'm done twisting my head here... I'm convinced it was divided into 6 pieces at this point.

I'da never given it a second thought.

Thanks a bunch Krom. That sure clears it up. I still haven't decided whether it's Charles 3 or 4. HH!
