I have been eyeballing and old unoccupied house for a long time behind my fitness club. Then finally in the middle of my workout one day, I notice someone mowing the yard of the house. I quickly ended my workout and ran over and asked permission to coin shoot the property. I was in uniform at the time and my luck would have it that I was talking to a Vietnam Vet. He said he usually says no because he has let so many do it before and didn't think anything was left to be found. But for me he said go ahead. So I spent late Friday afternoon at the house. He was right it was pretty much picked over but I did manage to come away with something that made it all worthwhile. At first I thought I was pulling out an old pad lock at about 6 inches deep. But after I brushed a little dirt off it turned out to be a pocket watch. A 1925 Westcox pocket watch. All glass still intact. Cool dig for a supposedly dug out site.
