Default 2 hours with ET

Had two hours to detect before dark, so I went to my favorite spot. Not a lot there, but did get some keepers. Trash is everywhere and I picked though it pretty well. The E trac seems to do well in trash. Still nothing over 5-6" in depth. Didn't think I found silver until I got home and found this nice Sterling piece. I think It's a collar piece??? Seems to be complete and shows signs of being crimped on each corner, to cloth I would imagine. I have found dozens of 1909 Wheats at this place and not one with an "S". Oh well!! Still lots of fun.

Hi Coinnut. I just read that Minelab set the sensetivity quite conservately in the coin mode. The post reccomends running it up into the high 20's. He too said that he was only getting about 6 inches but after the adjustment started digging 9 to 11 inches. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Been running at about 24 on average, sometimes higher when I can. I think it's a matter of location. This area is really mineralised. It will take a while to figure this one out. It took years to get the most from my DFX, so why should the E Trac be different? But I love this machine so far. Just can't get any deep silvers yet. HH

No a tumbler would pretty much kill them. It's ok for clad and memorials but I use a brass brush and dish soap for these. They are not valuable, so it works well and fast. Sometimes I use Hydrogen Peroxide, but it takes longer. HH
