Default Various finds for my last couple of short hunts

Nothing too incredible, but I was pleased to find a 1957 D silver dime and some neat relics. The wheats are 1937 D and 1953 D. I also found a "thin dime" and another Oklahoma tax token. The relics are interesting. The Empire tag I believe belongs to the Empire Oil and Gas company that was in the area around the 1920's. Probably a well tag or something. The dog tax tag is dated 1906. The little lapel pin I believe is a 4H pin. There's a little Jesus/child figure that I believe to be pretty old as well. The real surprise is the eagle "button" that looks really old. Maybe someone could date it for me by the design? There's no number or letter on the shield.

great finds! yup the button is civil war..lots of folks refer to them as staff buttons...or eagle buttons. can ya make out a letter inside the shield? alot where plain but some had letters in them like "I" or "R"

Great looking stuff Dale! Hey you didn't tell me about the button! If that turns out to be CW that would be really cool!

The "button" doesn't have a letter in the center. I had already checked for that. I use the term button because the back is not a button back. Very strange. Also, it very well could be CW because I know for a fact that there was a Union veteran that lived a few hundred feet away from the site I was detecting. Pretty cool if it's CW related. Would be my first CW find.

im 99.9% positive that is a civil war button..union general service button or perhaps a staff officers button...could have very well been made into a stick pin for a hat and thats why the back doesnt look "button like" congrats on your first civil war find!
