Thought you were selling it? Hehe. Wish I knew more about it to help you

What exactly seems to be the problem? I read a bunch of reviews on it, seems like a good machine, has a bit of a learning curve. There are settings available online for it... could help.

Hi Vette,
If you are impatient then this is probably not going to be your type of detector. I have used the Quattro a great deal and it is very deep if you don't mind going slow. It has the FBS technology and a pretty accurate ID. I use mine in all metal, no disc. I work the tones and then look at the readout. I have the Coiltek Platypus on mine and it is an elliptical coil. Personally I like the machine but it has it's place. The problem is the recovery speed, it has too much deadtime from one target to the next one. Oh the coil is a DD. So if you are wanting to cover some ground this isn't the machine. I hope this is helpful. CU later.

Have you tried checking out minelabowners.com ? I personally am not a member there because I think the site is too messy and navigation is a pain, but they have a whole section (if you can find it, hehe) dedicated to the Quattro. Might be worth checking out. I don't think you can lurk either, you have to be a member to view thread content.

Like John here, I also use the Minelab Quattro Mp for relic/coin hunting on goldfields or beaches. It IS a deep machine, and has a learning curve that takes some time, practice and patience to learn to get the most from it. I use it quite extensively. And prefer it over the Explorer 2, which I also own. Again like John, I use All Metal Mode, no discrimination, and don't ignore the negative numerical readings and tones especially if hunting for relics.
