Default Met a couple great guys today...

this morning I had the privilege to meet Tater and his son. They had invited me to hunt one of their sites with them. We traveled to a hayfield that Tater told me had several old home sites thru the years. We walked out to the hill where the homesite was and hunted for an hour and a half. Now I didn't make any outstanding finds, I found some rimfire shell casings and a few metal bits typical of these sites. Tater and his son found a coin, some buttons and other things. That's how old home sites are, when you hunt a site that is too old to show on an 1874 plat map you don't generally find much but you stand a good chance of finding a really good old coin or relic. I really had a good time, I had as much fun watching Tater's son as I did detecting. For a 9yr old he is quite a serious hunter and he's made some great finds already. Thanks again guys, I really enjoyed myself. As soon as I can locate a good homesite without corn or beans on it I'll return the favor. You two make a great team.

Phil, sounds like you had a great day.

Sounds like Tater's son is well on his way to being the next Indiana Jones or Mel Fisher.

Nice, Phil. Sounds like you had a great time on your birthday (Happy B-Day, again). Sounds like a nice old site to hunt, too.

That's what it's all about, sharing time and having fun with the kids.
Happy Birthday
