There are a few hunters from Georgia here at the site. They'll see your post in time. Welcome here.

Brian and I are in Chattanooga and go out most weekends. You are welcome to join in some of the fun, or if you have some cool places you are less than 30 min. away.
Where are some of the places you have been, Civil War stuff is all over Dalton good history area.

Thanks for the invite. I've yet to get a job so I am pretty open most of the time. I've not been through Dalton yet. I've had a chance to get to Resaca with no luck. I lived here in ATL about 9 years ago. I did find a bayonet there. I am still researching a bit about Dalton. That would be great if I could meet up with you - or we could try Dalton. Give me call or email and I'll meet you wherever. I am in Calhoun, but that's not too far.

Thanks,
Eddie

Hey. Welcome Eddie! I live about 30 to 45 minutes from Rome, GA. I have never been to that town before, but I have heard that is a cool place. I currently live in the Roswell area, but I am going to be moving further North this fall. Probably, up near Dahlonega and Lake Lanier. Maybe we could go hunting sometime.

I live near Lake Lanier/Mall of GA area! I think we will all have to get together and hunt!

Gwinnett is my old stomping ground. Lived in Flowery Branch and worked at Gwinnett Co. airport.

I am going up to the Dahlonega and Dawsonville area, tomorrow, to look at some land. I am looking for about an acre of land to build a small house on. That would be really cool to find some hunting buddies!

Ninjas digger buddy here! Would definately travel a short drive south for some good diggins. I guess the wooded areas would be more suited for the fall and winter time. These danm yellow jackets are on my last MD nerve! Cant wait for fall/winter with all the spots Ninja and I have found.

Have you ever done any hunting on Lake Lanier? I just read that Lake Lanier has over 692 miles of shoreline and the last I heard, the lake is down about 15 feet. I don't know if metal detecting is permitted there or not. I haven't been up to the lake in 4 or 5 years. I would love to go hunting along the shoreline of that lake! It would probably be a great spot.

careful around Lanier it is an Army Corp of Engineers lake, they can be somewhat unflexable with shorelines, you might ask them before going out

do you have to ask some permission everywhere or just some special places?

Default In Hall County

I grew up in Gwinnett County, live in Flowery Branch now. I'd buy lunch for anyone that can put me on a civil war bullet site. A button will get ya supper, too. I've managed a knapsack hook, rivets, and other odds and ends; but can't manage to stumble over a bullet...

I'd be willing to drive a couple hours and pick up any detectin' hitch hikers along the way. Course you might reconsider after seeing the inside of my truck.

Yup, I'll sadly admit that I'm desperate enough to use bribery to get on Civil War relics.

Default Howdy

I use to live down in those parts, near Dalton in Eton and Chatsworth many years ago. I'll tell you that area was one of the best places to grow up in I can remember when we moved there the neighbors bringing over fresh vegetables. One plowed up dads garden, I use to go over and talk with that ol feller for hours as a kid. Mr Sitton was his name. That was a different time than now when you neighbors where like your family. I would love to move back to Georgia some day.
