I have a question about extra coils. Do they all connect the same way no matter what the detector is? I know that mine just has a screw on spot to connect/ disconnect the cable from it and I was wondering if I'd have to get a coil from DetectorPro to be sure or would I be able to get them from any brand and be compatible. I've really only seen my 'tector in person, so I don't know how other brands do it.

Most coils are made for a particular model and aren't usually interchangable, A coil made for the minelab sovereign will not fit or work on an Minelab Exlorer, although a coil for say the sovereign XS will fit the sovereign Elite or GT. Some manufacturers like Whites have coils that fit varios models eg the coils for a DFX will fit and work on a MXT.
Then you have the 3rd party manufacturers like Coiltek, Detech and Sunray that make coils for the most common detectors. As for the Detector pro i don't think there are any third party coils and you would have to buy from them, also if its a water version maybe fitted by them also as most of the underwater detectors are hard wired. __________________ |
