I will be spending 4 days at Ocean Isle Beach in mid Sept. anyone know of any good spots to hunt the dry sand ?

In general, look for any disturbances in the sand like people laid or played in the sand. Observe all activity and note those places to check the next day. You can also search the walkways leading up to the beach. Any places where large amounts of people pass through are good places to check. Hope this helps! Good Luck and HH

OIB is a barrier island, which means there are areas along the Atlantic ocean beach and (big plus here) the intercoastal waterway. I think the main road through the center of the island is appropriately named "Ocean Drive" (or something like that).
OIB is a "restored" beach. As such the community is a little touchy about the dune areas. The trails between the dunes that allow for "beach access" should be great places to hunt...the sand's always dry ('cept for hurricanes). __________________ |
