Default Old Bracelet?

Got out the other day for awhile...hit an older abandoned house..was hoping for some silver but just clad. Did find, in pieces, a bracelet. All the pieces were found in about a 1 foot area, 2" or so down. Overall length of the pieces found is about 7.5 inches..did find a clasp of sorts..course can't be sure if there are any other sections missing...the detector didn't, well, detect any.

Any ideas on age? No markings whatsoever...Any thoughts on material? Used a toothbrush with soapy water..helped a bit...Any suggestions on what might clean it up a tad better?

Thanks for any insight..

Real nice detail on the bracelet, shame it isn't in one piece. Nice find

Smile Old Bracelet?

That is a nice find. I think you did the right thing in the way you cleaned it. A little tooth paste or soft scrub on the brush might clean it up a little better, but from the looks of it, if you clean it too much the plating might come off and ruin it's appearance. It really looks nice and natural like it is. Congratulations on the find.

Nice find - sure looks older as the craftsmanship is intricate. Better items have more work put into them frequently. Did you check for stamps with a magnifier ? Sometimes I find one that the eye cannot see by itself. Steve in so az

That is a very nice bracelet. Do you think you found all the pieces? Are the pieces connected with a pin? If so, you may be able to get it restored pretty easily.

No idea but nice find, that's for sure.
It's so much more a better feeling when the item found has some markings rather than none, for me anyway.
I love the excitement when you notice markings of any kind.

Kakly7, Not sure if all the pieces were found..like I mentioned, all what was found was in an area about 12" in diameter..ran the detector around the area but nothing else...I plan on going back and checking..No, sad to say the pieces are not all connected. 2 pieces x3 and 1 lone section plus a latch of some sort.

steve in so az..no I didn't check but excellent idea..I will

foreverRich..good suggestion..I'll try either of those cleaning ideas....

Nice find, but I'm not so sure it's that old.

The clasp is similar to jewelry they were wearing in the 1950's where one end slips into the other.

This is true, but, I have an early 1900s bracelet by S. O. Bigney with a similar closure, they've actually been around quite a while.

Interesting find, could be older than we think at first glance!
