Default New X-Terra 50

My X-Terra 50 is coming this week and I was wondering if there was any advice from owner's of minelab detectors. I am really exicted though.:spin:

Hello Brian, I have been to busy to be on the forum for a while, but I have been using an x-50 for more than a year. I think it is a great detector, often trash will give mixed VID numbers, from what I have seen the rest of the detectors with VID number are even less consistent. Always dig 9, 12, 27-42 if they repeat from both directions.
Although you won't get max depth it is a lot less frustrating to run sensitivity at 14 or 15 in the beginning.

Coins on the surface will/can give a double hit as you pass.
Before you start digging always raise the coil up 6 inches, if you still get a medium signal or so its likely a big something, it will go 14 inches for a mason jar lid, I have dug a few.

Gold will cover from 3 to 42 sad to say, its all about size with gold, so if you get a consistant crisp and small pinpoint on a 6 or 15 or 18 its usually still trash but there is a little better chance it could be gold.

got to go, hope this helps

Great info... I'm guessing this will apply to the 30 if I get it as well

Hello, some of the info applies to the x-30 and I have not used one, but I think I would not like it much after using the x-50.
It is missing a few features that really help, it only has one frequency, less coils (I use the 5x10 DD hi freq mostly) and a preset ground balance.

The x-50 is capable of an impressive trash to treasure ratio with the 5x10.

I have spent a lot of time thinking about the x-70 or now maybe the f-75 or 70 but I don't get enough time out to justify upgrading.
