I have two Questions
1. Which pin pointer work the best(iyho)?
2. What does everybody use for digging tools?
Thanks in advance
Douglas

Welcome to the forum!

There are 2 kinds of pinpointers; in-line and the other - more common kind. If you have a high-end detector you can get the in-line kind. It hooks into the detectors' circuits and after you find a target with the big coil, you flip over to the inline probe (it's like a real narrow coil) and pinpoint the target with that. These can detect from zero to 2.5 inches (but thier ads say up to 5 inches.) They are expensive, but those who have them swear by them.

The other kind of pinpointer is like a tiny detector. These can detect from zero to 1.5 inches depending upon the brand. There are lots of currently active threads on which type is the 'best'. And that's kind of like asking which make of car is the best. We all like what we like and like to think that what we have is the best. My next probe will be a vibra-probe. I've never used one, but they are water-proof and give you good depth for a hand-held unit.

There are lots of threads on digging tools (in fact you just posted in one.) Some folks use garden trowels, some use leshe diggers, some use knives. It's best to consider your surroundings and local culture and try not to scare the poop out of the neighbors as you walk around swinging your detector with your digger in the other hand. A bowe knife wouldn't go over very well as a digger in a big city.

Howdy and welcome to the forum. I use both but at different times. I use the Vibroprobe 570 with the detectors that Sunray does not make their inline probes for. There's one thing too, once you use one you'll never leave home without it.

I think the Whites Bulls Eye works OK.

I use a $40 Tiny Tec. It's not as strong.

But has more features.

I use a Fiskers digger from Wal-Mart. About $8.

I got a shovel from Wal-Mart and cut it down on a grinder

for digging targets. About $4.

Hope that helps,

I use a Lesche, many people on this forum will recommend it. Good price that reflects the quality, I swear by it. HH
