I'm a retired tractor operator, Catapillars mostly. I once was using a scraper (cat 623) and was down about 4 feet when I spotted a round circle in the newly cut dirt. I stopped the tractor and found a V nickle. Don't remember the date. Another time I found a proof set buried where a house had burned down. I opened it up and spent the money, I was young and foolish.

I am a retired shade tree machanic of 40 years young.

I had my own little shop/garage repairing anything with an engine. I have the scars, bad back, rough hands, creaking knees and gray hairs to prove it.

I still tinker but rather be out digging in the dirt than have to turn a wrench.

HH

My dads an ex mechanic and general engineer, same thing fixing everything that moved with an engine and then making security gates.

He retired almost 10 years ago, for the lengthy time of 3 months then started working again, hes been a work addict his whole life and no just finished building a 7 bedroon, 5 bathroom house for him and his 80 year old girlfriend at the ripe old age of 74, built the walls, the roof, etc and this is all from brick and stone...some people you cant keep them down, i swear if he died tomorrow youd be able to hear him sanding the inside of the coffin as they laid him in the hole or putting in shelves

Wow, thats a big house. Your Dad sounds like my Mom, she will be 78 in October, she comes to the barn and helps my brother & I milk the cows twice a day. She does most of the field work, plowing, harrowing, baling hay, etc. We tell her to slow down and not do so much work but she wouldn't have it any other way.

I help my brother operate 3 Mcdonald's Restaurants. Family business means any hat you can wear gets put on your head. My family and hobbies make it all worthwhile.
