Default New Record

I broke my record for old V nickle the other day while detecting in a small city park. At 7" I found this 1883 V nickle w/cents. This broke my oldest V nickle date by 4 years. I also found a 1889 IH, 1925, 1940, and 1945 Wheat. HH

That's a nice looking "V" -- lots of detail still shows. Congrats!

Default VDI reading for that nickel?

Hey Deepbeep,

I've got an MXT also and I'm curious if you recall what VDI number showed for that nickel? I haven't found anything quite that old yet - but I look forward to the day.

It was bouncing around in the penny/ zinc penny area. Im not sure why because that is not the nickle zone. It repeating from every direcction I swung the coil over it. HH
