Cool 10K, Small Ruby, very Small Diamond

Last Sat. I finally talked myself into getting out, despite the football games I wanted to watch on TV and the on and off rain showers in the area...20 minutes into the hunt at a local school, I'd about decided I should have stayed home...moved over to a woodchip area and finally hit 2 dimes in the same spot..moved the coil over the spot again and got a strong nickel signal...swished the 'ol screwdriver through the chips , but didn't hit my nickel, which surprised me, since nickels with strong signals are a cinch to find in chips...tried again and saw a coppery glint...great...a shiny penny, I thought....brushed the rest of the chips aside and there was the ring I've been looking for over the last 19 months and 6,200 coins....a beautiful ( unsquashed, unbent, almost pristine) size 7 ladies' ring stamped 10K PFO, with a small ruby stone, and an even smaller off-set diamond...no big money ring like the $1,000 solitaire I found 25 years ago, but still enough to make my MD'ing year ; also good enough to make up for the 3 solid days I spent battling searing heat and mosquitos last summer while searching an 80 year old house to come up with .50 clad and 5 wheat pennies...and good enough to make up for 27 consecutive Memmies I dug up at another 80 year old house across the srteet...even enough to cancel out the week I spent hunting a 100 year old house for 2.50 clad and a wheat penny...my niece is coming home from college this weekend and is supposed to bring the camera ..if the 2 of us can muster enough brainpower to figure it out, I'll try to post a pic on this site... HH Roadrunner 2007 Totals - 3,135 Coins, 4 pieces of 10k jewelry , 10 pieces of sterling, 1 Merc., 1 V Nickel
