Default country school house finds

Got out to a old long gone country school house today. It has been detected several times back in the 1980's with a old goldmaster but I had to give it a try with my MXT. Managed to find:

1894 IH
1897 IH
1911 wheat
1917-s wheat
1918 wheat x2
1919-d wheat
1920 wheat
1929 wheat
1941-s wheat
1945-s war nickle
1962-d nickle
1 military button
1 token

Not a bad day..looking forward to hitting it again. On a side note those IH's did ID as zinc pennies/screwcap on my MXT. I know I skipped some of them early on in the hunt. Pics to follow after some olive oil soaking. HH

That's a great purse there. Awesome job. That's the second time I have heard about olive oil soaking. What does this do and is it safe to do on coins and buttons and other artifacts without damaging their value?

Now that's a list of finds anyone would be proud of. Nice going.

These schools are/ or where every 5 miles or so around here and I have found them to produce pretty well. I have several others lined up to hit when weather permits. I dont find any extremely old coins at the schools or anywhere else around here but I just love finding IH's. HH

Very impressive DB. Boy, sure wish I knew where the old one room schoolhouse is that I went to when I was just a wee lad. Being as it is downstate from me, its probably a condo by now.

I hit one last year that gave me a 1917 WLH. I was pretty happy.

Here's the pic...I think I need to get a scanner so the detail can be seen. HH
