Default Can it be fixed?

Hey all, how's everyone been?
Well...the wife and I went camping again this weekend with our best friends and aside from a few mishaps we had a blast. Our tent pad had a yellowjacket nest under the log and although we were careful and emptied about 10 cans of wasp spray on them I still managed to get stung 3 times (by the same bee) and my buddy ended up getting stung later on.

My second mishap happened when I was holding up a downed tree to see if it was too heavy to haul back to our site to chop up for wood. As I was about to drop the rear back down, it slipped out of my hand anyway and part of it's old root bent my ring finger back in a bad way. It felt like it was just jammed at first and actually felt almost normal 10 minutes later. Stupidly I should have taken off my wedding band anyway knowing it would probably swell and swell it did later on. My finger was actually turning red the next morning from the pressure the ring was putting on it, but as long as I could still feel my finger tip I wasn't too worried. Anyway, the swelling didn't get any better the next day and I was getting concerned with my finger. I ended up drimeling the top with a small wiz wheel to weaken it and then got a good pair of dikes on it to cut it off. I still had to pry it open much further to get around the swelling. I didn't take a picture of it, but I was wondering if any of you know if this can be repaired decently? It is 14k if that matters at all.

The third mishap, I rolled my angle while spraying the yellow jackets again on the last day. I'm really not accident prone, honest. I just had a series of unfortunate events.

Default dremmel, dikes, Yikes!

Is that the finger you used the dykes on or the ring? I read it too fast. Did you hyper-extend the finger? Did you have to pull it back into position? if so "Been there, Done that." The knuckle may be enlarged for a long time, maybe months. You made it back from Iraq with just flea bites and sand in your boots, and you have two mishaps in one camping trip.
Seems to me if it's the ring we speak of, any jeweler should put it right back in shape for you. You may not get it on that finger for some time. Welcome home...........Gil

Lol, I meant drimeled the ring silly. I was gonna attempt to cut it all the way through like that, but with the amount of pressure on my finger I knew the slightest cut would start squirting and I wouldn't be able to get to it right away. I slammed my middle finger in Kuwait playing volley ball when we first went to Iraq and that sucker didn't feel right for 6 months after. I hope this one heals quicker. It's still sore and a little less swollen, but at least I can still play guitar. I just can't do any quick trills with that finger.

A gold ring can absolutely be repaired. You'll never know it was cut off your finger...

Red face Fixing the ring

Yes, it can be repaired by a jeweler. I caught my wedding band on a rotating machine and tore the finger half off. Twisted the ring up almost to a figure eight. ER stitched up the finger (32 total) after cutting the ring off. Jeweler fixed the ring good as new, but a bit larger to fit over permanently enlarged knuckle.
