Default Backyard-agains....

I have been over my backyard several times with several detectors but my whites spectrum xlt seems to be the one pulling silver and other goods all the time! Here's what I found on labor day... Here's a front and back view, I got a 1942D Merc, 1967 Dime, & a really cool Mason City Motor Coach Co. Token good for one fare... I live in Mason City, IA so I thought that it was pretty neat, it's probably dated in the 1930's from what I've researched on it.

Congrats on your finds! I wish I had a yard old enough to have some goodies.

Everyone's yard has the potential for finds, from meteorites to gold, and coins to artifacts. All land is old, very old. Search your yard thoroughly then search it again, and again there almost certainly is something cool there. I found my second gold in my front yard, though it was only gold plated silver, it's still cool. I am up to about 6 wheat pennies so far so I am due a silver coin any time now. I have 1.5 acres so I may never fully clean all the goodies out.

Great finds and keep searching those yards!

Thumbs up

Congrats to you both! Your own yard is one of the best spots to hunt!

Hunt your yard if you haven't. It doesn't matter if it isn't old, you never know what lies beneath HH

Yeah, your own yard is a great place. After all, if anyone had hunted it before, you would have called the cops and kept their finds. xD

My yard gave up 2 nickels, 3 pennies, a toy gun, a load of roofing nails and little aluminum bits from the trim work on the house. Although my yard was part of farm fields from the 1800's, I have never found anything of real historic value. The coins were recent mintage.
