Default Second Half of August (not bad...)

Here are my results for the second half of August.

Most finds are in waist-chest deep fresh water but I also do some dry sand hunting, as much as I can stand with a PI machine and the levels of junk I have to sort through...

Conditions changed dramatically this period. Wave action had started to scoop troughs that yielded older finds. Which was good since fresh drops have been few & far between this year.

Here is everything but 90% of the junk: Some of the odd finds were a 3lb maul, an old harmonica, a Monopoly piece, a Boy Scout knife in relic condition, and yo-yo that lights up. Recovered the basic stuff as well; six working lighters, $8.41 in clad, a rabies vaccination tag from GA, tent stakes, matchbox cars, etc, etc.

Very happy to report that on the precious metals front I did very well this period. From left to right; .925 heart locket, 14k white gold band (6g), .925 ring (a dry sand find), and a beautiful old-style .925 and fire opal ring.

A lot of firsts for me in this post. My first sledgehammer (third hammer, though), first white gold, and below, first dollar coin and first NA (Narcotics Anonymous) coin.

All in all, not a bad 1/2 month. I'm very pleased. Hope it keeps up.

Dang Holey Smoke...you rocked it! A lot of finds and not enough pictures in my opinion, but awesome none the less. I look forward to your bi-monthly reports. Keep stackin' that silver and gold my friend...

Edit: For some reason I was only seeing one picture. Now I can see 3 pictures. Much better...

That's pretty funny...I found the same exact type of sledgehammer, but it didn't fit in my pocket, so I carried it up to the dry sand..I stood it up and left it for the next guy with motor problems

I love your finds Smoke, cause they always resemble mine..We always get a little bit of everything and some really unusual

Maybe it's the whole cigar thing that is the connection..

CONGRATS as you look like you killed it..

Great finds man! You did well all around...and after finding the sledge you probably didn't need a weight belt!
